In a vacuum system, every part has to be right. A single faulty weld or a contaminated surface is enough to fall short of the customer’s specifications or disrupt the system’s performance.

Vernooy Vacuum Engineering has been making vacuum chambers and vacuum components for more than 50 years. We know the details that make the difference. We combine engineering, manufacturing, UHV cleaning and leak testing under one roof. That is how we make your complex vacuum project easy.

Typical challenges we take on

You need vacuum chambers with tight tolerances and high cleanliness requirements. You are looking for a supplier that handles welding, machining, cleaning and leak testing within a single process chain.
You need vacuum components that are delivered clean and leak-tight. You are looking for a supplier that tests every weld and every joint before they are shipped.
Your current supplier is not delivering what you need. You are running into problems with cleanliness, dimensional accuracy or leak tightness, and are looking for a supplier that has these under control.

What makes Vernooy unique?

Vernooy Vacuum Engineering is a compact organisation within Masévon Group. You deal directly with the engineers working on your project. As a result, you receive a quotation quickly, lead times are short and we incorporate design changes into production straight away.

Our engineers assess every design from hands-on experience in welding and machining. For parts that have been in production for years, this often shows us where they could be easier and cheaper to manufacture.

If your project calls for more than vacuum technology alone, we arrange that as well. This could include cleanliness at ISO 5 and ISO 6 level or system integration. Vernooy remains your point of contact throughout.

Technologies and capabilities

Engineering and redesign

We assess your design for manufacturability. For existing parts, we look at how they can be made easier and often cheaper to manufacture.

Turning and milling

We machine in-house, which keeps dimensional accuracy and surface quality under control from the first operation onwards. The expected weld shrinkage is already factored into the design and pre-machining.

Welding and final machining

Manual and orbital TIG welding, and robotic welding. With the right pre-machining and welding sequence, we keep weld shrinkage under control. This keeps the vacuum chamber within tolerance and leaves just enough material for precise final machining.

UHV cleaning

We clean parts to UHV level, leaving them free of molecular contamination.

Leak testing

We test parts for leak tightness before they are shipped.

Bake-out and RGA qualification

On request, we carry out a bake-out and use residual gas analysis (RGA) to measure which gases remain in the chamber. This is how we qualify the chamber for your process.

Cleanroom assembly

We assemble and package vacuum components in a cleanroom. This minimises the risk of particle contamination and maintains the required cleanliness through to delivery.
